2024 Is For MORE
We’ve been hearing this from our pastor for the first couple of weeks of this new year. He’s absolutely right. The new year will bring more. Along with it, will bring more of what you believe, what you think, and what you feel. If you are in a season of abundance, guess what? More abundance is coming.
But on the flip side, If you are in a season of negativity, guess what you will reap? You guessed it – negativity in whatever form that may come. The bottom line is what you sow you will reap. This goes for anything in your life. The Bible preaches this throughout, but I think I am partial to Paul’s version – 2 Corinthians 9:6 – Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
My wife and I have been on a journey of giving more to our local community through our church, charities, or in whatever way we are called. Now I’ll be real. For many years, we thought we did not have much to give. We just came up with a set amount to give to the church each week. It was less than a tithe, that’s for sure.
You know what? This was a false truth. We actually had a lot more to give. Being a hard-nosed budgeter, I could have found a lot more wiggle room in that budget to give, but I felt like I needed to hang on to those extra dollars.
But a revelation came in that Bible verse. When you give more, you get more.
We found the room in the budget and started giving a true tithe. We began blessing a waiter/waitress with a nice tip around the holidays. We doubled our Toy For Tots budget to help even more kids than we ever had. Any opportunity that was presented to us to give, we said, “YES!”
Not only did we see the fruit of our labor in the church through the ministries we were supporting, but we saw some faces light up as they received something they needed to help them in a tough time. The feeling of giving to help others, cannot be measured. And though we truly feel blessed to give, we were blessed as well. Surprise checks showed up in our mailbox that we were completely unaware of.
Do you know what God is saying?
“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happiness! (Matthew 25:23)
If you want to get more in 24’ learn to GIVE more. Be ready for doors to open that you’ve never experienced before.
